Multifamily owners have not been immune from the recent jump in inflation. Expenses, led by insurance and labor, rose sharply over the last year, according to an aggregated survey of more than 20,000 properties that use Yardi Voyager accounting software. Whether this recent spike is transitory or not, managers must sharpen pencils to cut costs.
