Self storage supply forecast increases for all years For the Q1 2026 update, the Yardi Matrix Self Storage Supply Forecast has been increased for all years. Construction starts and national advertised rental rates modestly improved in the second half of 2025, suggesting that some amount of stabilization is occurring in self storage new development. The forecast continues to model a reduction in new supply over the later years, but at a level above previous forecasts.
