Yardi Matrix Multifamily Supply Forecast – Q3 2026

The Q3 forecast update has increased forecast completions for 2026 by 2.5%, with the remaining years only modestly changed. Overall, the shape of the forecast has not changed materially. The forecast continues to anticipate a bottom in new supply to occur in 2027 at around 444,000 units, with a modest rebound taking new supply to 460,381 units by 2031.
