Rent growth recorded its second straight month out of negative territory, up 0.2% on a trailing three-month basis through June, to $1,475, boosted by the upscale Lifestyle sector. Still, occupancy decreased <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardimatrix.com\/blog\/august-2022-las-vegas-multifamily-market-report\/\"><strong>110 basis points year-over-year<\/strong><\/a> as of June, to 93.1%.<\/p>\n<p><iframe id=\"datawrapper-chart-52ca7\" style=\"width: 0; min-width: 100% !important; border: none;\" title=\"Las Vegas vs. National Rent Growth (Trailing 3 Months)\" src=\"https:\/\/datawrapper.dwcdn.net\/52ca7\/2\/\" height=\"376\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" aria-label=\"Interactive line chart\" data-external=\"1\"><\/iframe><script type=\"text\/javascript\">!function(){\"use strict\";window.addEventListener(\"message\",(function(a){if(void 0!==a.data[\"datawrapper-height\"]){var e=document.querySelectorAll(\"iframe\");for(var t in a.data[\"datawrapper-height\"])for(var r=0;r<e.length;r++)if(e[r].contentWindow===a.source){var i=a.data[\"datawrapper-height\"][t]+\"px\";e[r].style.height=i}}}))}();\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p>Las Vegas\u2019 unemployment rate stood at 5.6% in May, a 30-basis-point improvement from January, but lagging the state (5.4%) and the U.S. (3.7%), according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Employment growth was up 5.5%, or 45,700 jobs, in the 12 months ending in April, well ahead of the 2.9% U.S. rate. Two sectors lost jobs\u2014financial activities and other services\u2014for 1,300 jobs combined. Gains were led by leisure and hospitality and professional and business services. Investment plummeted, with just $238 million in multifamily assets trading through June.
